Sequence MCP and API docs
Everything your agent can do in Sequence is one of 102 tools on the hosted MCP server. Each tool is also a REST endpoint, so your own code can do the same with the same key.
Connect an agent
The MCP server is hosted at https://setsequence.com/api/mcp and speaks streamable HTTP. Claude Code and Codex connect with an account key:

- claude.ai: Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Paste the URL and choose Connect.
- ChatGPT: Settings, then Apps, then Advanced. Turn on developer mode, create an app, paste the URL and choose OAuth.

Authentication
Create an account key in Sequence under Settings, then AI agents. Keys start with cad_acct_ and go in the Authorization: Bearer header. One key reaches every brand you own.
Pick the brand on each call. MCP tools take a team argument with the brand's slug or ID. REST calls under /api/v1 send it as the X-Cadence-Team header.
Tools by area
Brands
A brand is one business you send for, with its own contacts, sending domain and texting number. One account key works across every brand you own; pass the brand's slug as team on each call.
Contacts
Create, import, look up and delete the people you send to, and record opt-outs or SMS consent. Properties merge on every update and become template tokens.
Audiences
Group contacts into static lists or dynamic audiences defined by conditions, and let segment rules move engaged contacts into an audience automatically.
Templates and assets
Write email and SMS templates, preview them exactly as they will send, host the images they use and send yourself a test.
Sequences
Build follow-ups: pick a trigger, add email and text steps with waits or anchored times, A/B test email steps, enroll contacts and read the results.
Broadcasts
Schedule a one-time send to an audience and read its results.
Events
Report what happened to a contact, such as an order or a booking, so the sequences that listen for that event start. Simulate an event to see what would send.
Weather watches
Watch National Weather Service alerts for the areas you serve and emit an event to an audience when a matching alert is issued.
SMS numbers
Register a brand for US texting (A2P 10DLC), then buy and manage the numbers its texts come from.
Sending domains
Send email from your own domain: register it, add the DNS records it returns and verify.
Conversations
Read and answer the email and text replies contacts send, assign them to a teammate and close them when done.
Social posts
Connect a brand's social accounts, then draft, schedule and publish posts to them. Connecting an account happens on a settings page a person completes; posts stay drafts until they are published.
Integrations
Connect Pipedrive or ServiceTitan so leads, deals and appointments arrive as contacts and events.
